 XXI Century Investments Public Limited (LSE: XXIC), one of Ukraine's leading real estate investment, development and property management companies, today announces the opening of Kvadrat Perova shopping centre. Kvadrat Perova is the first hypermarket gallery format shopping and entertainment complex that XXI Century has delivered. The property, which has a total area of approximately 41,000 sq m, is located in the densely populated Voskresenka district and is the largest shopping centre on the left bank of the Dnipro river in Kyiv. The opening ceremony for the centre was held on 29 March 2008.
The centre is already fully leased to well-known and established tenants including Intertop, Adidas, Reebok, Colin’s Jeans, Sasch, Oggi, Sela, Yves Rocher and others. The shopping centre includes a ‘Perekrestok’ food supermarket, an ‘Odessa Kino’ multiplex cinema, a recreation centre for children, a ‘Baby Boom’ children goods supermarket, a food court for six operators, a shopping gallery with about 100 boutiques, and underground and overground parking.
The total commercial area of the project is approximately 19,000 sq m, and the average daily footfall for the shopping centre is expected to be approximately 20,000 people. Total investments for realisation of the project totalled approximately USD 41 mln.
Georgiy Tzagareishvili, XXI Century project development director, said: “In accordance with the Company`s development strategy we plan to open Kvadrat shopping centres in all of the major cities in Ukraine. The next to be delivered will be Kvadrat Miloslavska in Kyiv and Kvadrat Sevastopol in Crimea, with opening scheduled by 2010.”
